Cadence supports you. Your care team leads.
Cadence is a daily copilot, not a clinician. It helps you keep a clearer picture of how you are doing, so your conversations with your doctor are easier and more useful.
What Cadence does, and what it does not.
These are not fine-print disclaimers. They are the design. We built Cadence this way on purpose.
Cadence supports. It does not diagnose.
Cadence reads what you log and reflects it back clearly, identifies patterns, and helps you form questions for your clinician. It does not tell you what is wrong with you or what condition you have.
No dosing or treatment instructions.
Cadence will never suggest a dose, tell you to take more or less of a medication, or recommend a change to your treatment plan. Those decisions belong to you and your care team.
Medical decisions are always for your clinician.
If something in your logs concerns you, Cadence can help you put it into words and share it at your next visit. Starting, stopping, or adjusting treatment is always a conversation with your doctor or nurse.
Always honest about what it is.
Cadence is software. It never pretends to be a clinician, a nurse, or a medical authority. When it is uncertain, it says so and encourages you to ask a professional.
When to seek care right away
If you or someone nearby has any of the following, stop and get help now. Do not wait for Cadence or any app.
- Chest pain or pressure, even if mild
- Trouble breathing or shortness of breath at rest
- Fainting or near-fainting
- Sudden weakness, numbness, or trouble speaking
- Severe or unusual bleeding
- Thoughts of harming yourself or others
In the US: call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Outside the US: use your local emergency number.
What happens when you log something serious.
When Cadence notices something in your logs that may need immediate attention, it does not try to handle it. Instead, it shows you a calm, clear prompt to seek care and, if you have connected a care team through Cadence, it can notify your clinician so they can follow up.
Cadence will never advise you to wait and see. It will not reassure you that something serious sounds fine. If there is any chance something needs a professional, it tells you clearly.
If you log something that suggests a mental health crisis or thoughts of self-harm, Cadence shows a warm message with crisis line numbers and encourages you to reach out to someone who can help right now.
What you logged sounds like it may need a clinician's attention today. Please contact your care team or, if this is urgent, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Cadence cannot handle this for you.
